dedicated group of walkers who enjoy a varied programme on Wednesdays
and Saturdays.
Social Committee
We
have a thriving social committee which organises
various
events throughout the year such as Quiz Nights, Theme nights
in
the Church hall, day and evening trips. We also run a Trinity
Treat for the
Sunday School and an Annual Christmas Dinner
for our more senior members.

Bible
Study Fellowship
We
are a group meeting each week to explore the Bible and, through
friendship and debate, to deepen our faith. We follow various
programmes of study and end each session with a bring and share meal.
Ladies
Guild
The
Guild has evolved from the Ladies Sewing Guild, founded on Ash
Wednesday 18th February 1920 by Maud, president, the wife of Reverend
Welch.
The Ladies Guild meet in the Church Hall
on the 1st,
3rd and 4th Wednesday of the month at 2.45pm. On the 2nd Wednesday,
after Holy Eucharist we organise a coffee morning for members of the
congregation, proceeds to charities, at the present time to the Kiyombe
Cow scheme.
On our afternoon guild meetings, the
secretary
arranges guest speakers, including for many years, Mr Jack Fairweather,
MBE of the Guide Dog Association, and we are pleased to have received a
framed photograph now on the church hall wall, for our support to this
charity.
Donations to speakers include Amelia
trust,
R.N.L.I, Cwm Talwg project, Ashgrove School, Salvation Army, Air
Ambulance among others.
Social afternoons
include, St
David’s Day Tea, New Year lunch, Christmas Party, Quizzes,
competitions, bingo, musical afternoons and Bring/Buy/Cake stall.
We
have given invaluable financial assistance to All Saints Church over
the years, and hopefully will continue to do so in the future.
We
welcome new members to the Guild, and look forward to many helpful and
enjoyable years.
Mothers' Union
Our
present branch was formed 21 years ago by Janet, wife of the
rector, Canon John Oeppen. On that evening in February 1987,
42
members were enrolled - we now have double that number.
At
our meetings which are held in the Church Hall on the 2nd and 4th
Thursday of the month at 7:30pm, we have a variety of speakers and
illustrated talks, and a lot of chat and laughter!
Internationally
the MU has UN consultative status, is involved in literacy and
development programmes and a range of diverse programmes in many
countries around the world. In the UK we have a national
parenting programme. Almost certainly, MU members will be
involved with families in your local area wherever you are in the UK.
The
MU has 5 main objectives:
To uphold Christ's teaching on the
nature of marriage and to promote its wider understanding.
To
encourage parents to bring up their children in the faith and life of
the Church.
To maintain a worldwide fellowship of Christians
united in prayer, worship and service.
To promote conditions
in society favourable to stable family life and the protection of
children.
To help those whose family life has met with
adversity.

St.
Baruc's
St.
Baruc's Church hosts several community activities including a monthly
social evening, an annual Christmas Bazaar and a number of coach trips
each year.
Music Group
A
talented ensemble of
young musicians meets weekly to rehearse at All Saints' Hall and add to
worship on several occasions throughout the year, especially at
services aimed at young people.
Sunday
School
All
Saints' Sunday School meets during the family Communion service
throughout the school term. A thriving group, the children
are
separated into classes based on age and with their leaders they have an
opportunity to explore the Bible and express their faith through
creativity.
All Saints'
Choir and Organist
We
are a small enthusiastic four part choir, and R.S.C.M. affiliated. Our
main function is to support the services of the church from a musical
aspect. Our Sunday Eucharist is a sung form, and supported on
alternate Sundays with an anthem. We also sing Evensong on a weekly
basis.
During Festivals and special occasions
the demands
are extended further. These requirements have resulted in an
extensive and interesting repertoire.
Our main
objective is
to maintain a high and selective standard of music, and to fight for a
strong musical tradition that the Church of England (Wales) deserves to
retain.

All
Saints'
Servers
The
Parish of Barry has amongst its servers three members of the Guild of
Servants for the Sanctuary who have amassed over one hundred
years membership and belong to the Cardiff and Vale Chapter of
Saint Barnabas. The Guild is a worldwide organisation
for altar
servers of both sexes who accept the Catholic Faith and
Practice,
priests can also apply and become Priest Associates, both parties can
become full members after a twelve month period of probation.
During
the past three years the local Chapter have sung the Guild Office
either in All Saints or St. Baruc's on three occasions. The meetings are
held monthly and the churches visited cover the Vale of
Glamorgan
and Cardiff. We also meet nationally at least twice a year, and in
November on the 17th we hold our autumn Festival at St. Woolos
Cathedral, Newport where we will celebrate a High Mass, and later in
the day sing the Guild Office, followed by an address by the Dean of
St. Woolos, ending the day with Benediction.
Flower
Guild
All
Saints' Flower Guild has been running for many years, we have over 50
men and women who place flowers either at the altar, pulpit or two
memorial tablets on their chosen dates. At Easter, Harvest
and
Christmas we have a group of ladies who regularly attend to decorate
the Church with flowers.

Our
big event next year is our Church's 100th
Anniversary; on the 5th 6th
and 7th of June 2008 we will be holding a Flower
Festival, the 1st since 1973.
